SLAPP Motion Granted; Clients Dismissed From Lawsuit Brought By Former Employer

The Cook County court granted our clients’ SLAPP motion and dismissed a lawsuit against them in its entirety. The court’s ruling is attached. The court found our clients’ conduct was in furtherance “of unionization efforts at Hudson”-namely with the United Electrical, Radio, & Machine Workers of America union.

Hudson Institute of Process Research, Inc. sued our clients who were former employees. The Cook County lawsuit alleged: Breach of Confidentiality, Trade Secret Misappropriation, Breach of Non-Disparagement, and Commercial Disparagement.

Our clients filed motions to dismiss which were granted in their entirety. We also requested a ruling under the Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation (SLAPP) which was granted.
